Melanotan II (MT-2)

Synthetic analogue of alpha-MSH. Promotes skin tanning via melanin production. Also has libido-enhancing effects.

  • Promotes deep skin tanning without UV exposure
  • Reduces UV damage needed for pigmentation
  • Libido enhancement (similar to PT-141)
  • Appetite suppression in some users
  • May reduce compulsive behaviors (research phase)
Loading: 0.25–0.5mg SubQ daily until desired tan. Maintenance: 0.5–1mg 2x/week. Start very low — highly potent.

  • HIGH RISK — may cause rapid darkening and change of existing moles and nevi — potential melanoma risk
  • NOT FDA approved — significant safety concerns
  • Changes to existing moles require immediate dermatological evaluation
  • Has caused serious adverse events including hospitalizations
  • Should NEVER be used without dermatologist monitoring
  • Contraindicated in personal or family history of melanoma or dysplastic nevi
Mole changes (serious — requires immediate dermatologist evaluation), priapism, severe nausea, hypertension. Cases of melanoma development reported — causality not definitively established but risk is real.
